Moving North

We left Stuart after 2 relaxing days. Had heavy rain and thunder both days but they lasted no more than an hour. First stop was Vero Beach at the municipal marina which was on the other side of town
and a long walk to town. The city did have a rather large (8-10 acres) dog park where we took Bella to
bond with the other dogs her size. There were owners picnicking in the enclosed park and some even had their dogs dressed in various outfits.

Next stop was Cocoa Village, a marvelous little town which everyone had told us was a must stop. A great public park (see above) and marvelous little shops in the downtown area.

100 year old church built by the Seventh Day Adventists and now a landmark.

We left Cocoa headed to New Smyrna Beach when we entered a small canal on the intra coastal only to find at least 6 manatees enjoying themselves. Manatees pretty much feed all day and often get
In the way of boaters and end up getting hit by the boat props. Florida is quite protective of the manatees and strictly enforces a Minimum speed zone.

One of a kind "Bed and Breakfest". Notice the water levels from the tides. On our way past this point
We passed a sail boat and he radioed me and asked where Fair Haven NY was? He saw the name on the back of our boat. Seems his daughter who was onboard his boat for a few days was a recent
University of Rochester graduate and now worked for the town of Pittsford NY. Small world!

New Smyrna Beach.  Dinner with Larry and Elaine Leaf. Larry and I went to grammar school and high school together and have been friends for over 60 years. We had a great visit and will see each other in July at our 50th high school reunion.

St. Augustine and World Golf Village and the Golf Hall of Fame.

Every one was allowed one shot at the par 3 that is a replica of the 17th hole at the TPC course.

How did they ever hit the ball?

Golf has come a long ways, wouldn't you say?
